At Transformative Changes, we believe healing is the ultimate path to change. Only by striving for community well-being can we be begin to tear down the status quo and fight for justice.
The transformative power of art as a tool for personal growth and collective healing is undeniable. Our program fosters an environment where historically marginalized youth and young adults aged 15 to 24 can express themselves, question societal norms, and elevate marginalized voices. By harnessing the creative expression of emerging youth artists and activists of color, we promote social inclusion and drive meaningful change in the Greater Richmond Region. This initiative not only enhances civic engagement but also nurtures youth leadership development, allowing young individuals to heal from trauma and take action on pressing societal issues.
The Cocoon phase is a critical period for personal reflection and growth, especially in our fast-paced world. Our Cocoon program provides a structured environment where individuals of all ages across the state can rejuvenate and transform through community events, workshops, and training sessions. Engaging in these activities not only boosts personal well-being but also fosters a stronger, more connected community. By investing in our individual journeys, we collectively embody "Ubuntu," which means, "I am because we are," centering solidarity, collective care, and well-being.
The Black Youth Mental Health Collaborative is pioneering a culturally responsive initiative for youth aged 13 - 18 aimed at addressing the pressing mental health disparities faced by Black youth in the Greater Richmond Region. With a commitment to a healing-centered approach, BYMHC emphasizes the importance of integrating youth storytelling, family engagement, and participatory advocacy. By centering the lived experiences of Black adolescents, we can drive impactful policy changes and create a supportive infrastructure that fosters emotional well-being.
The Heal Her Collective is a groundbreaking statewide initiative tailored for young Black women aged 18 to 29, focusing on healing-centered leadership and personal ecology.
