Consultant: Development Director (Capacity-Building Focus)
Transformative Changes (TC) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to serve as a Development Director (Consultant) as part of a time-limited, capacity-building engagement.
Transformative Changes is a Black-women-founded, start-up nonprofit organization advancing healing justice, health equity, and racial equity across the Richmond region and Virginia. Since its founding, TC has worked at the intersection of mental health equity, restorative justice, youth leadership, and community care to reimagine how communities respond to harm, crisis, and care.
As TC transitions from a start-up organization into its next stage of growth, we are intentionally strengthening our internal systems to support sustainability and scale. This RFP seeks a consultant who can help design, operationalize, and document resource development and fundraising systems that will support TC’s long-term financial health and organizational effectiveness.
This role is designed as a short-term, systems-building consultancy, not a permanent staff position. The selected consultant will work closely with TC leadership to build durable fundraising infrastructure, strengthen grant and donor management processes, and support the successful implementation of goals outlined in TC’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan and capacity-building grant.
Proposals should be submitted electronically to: carissa@transformativechanges.org

Transformative Changes offers both internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
Our Roles Include
Both pathways are grounded in real work, mentorship, and capacity-building. Interns and apprentices are prioritized for paid or stipend-based opportunities as funding becomes available and are intentionally written into grant proposals whenever possible.
